Impressionable Years

Page 3

In 1987 my grandpa died without really knowing how great of an Artist he was.  What remained of his works was just a few newspaper cartoon clippings from early on in his career.  They are my biggest treasure!

This picture of grandpa Dalmo Pessoa (far left) from the 40's when he worked for "O Estado de São  Paulo" newspaper in Brazil.

Once I decided to pursue my career, I did what most people do; I signed up for acting classes.  I entered the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and took some great classes there.  Turns out that those years in school taking Drama classes and participating in school plays paid off because I didn't have to start from scratch.  After a while I decided that it was time for me to start doing some movies.  So I went to the American Art College and put my picture in their casting book, and I worked with some really cool film students.  Shortly there after I got my first lead role in "Show Me Your Tattoo" by Jung Ha, where I played a crazy wife that completely dominates her husband.  That was a delicious role, and I had a lot of fun doing it.  And unlike most people that once the movie is over, they don't keep in touch, I am friends to this day with the Director Jung Ha and Paul the actor that played my husband.
