I made the move to L.A. once I realized that living in San Francisco was a bit difficult to get the casting opportunities I wanted since the majority of the casting is done in L.A. It's amazing how everyone has an opinion about L.A., and how difficult it is, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And most of the time, their opinions about the business is not always positive or true. But I moved anyway, and once here, I found more people with even more negative opinions about on how to get an agent, or how to become SAG, and why it is so hard to do this and that. So instead of listening to other people's opinions about the industry, go get the information yourself and stop listening to other people's negative ideas about the business. Another thing...let go of the need to seek approval from others. I had to learn that the hard way, but I learned my lesson, and today I don't need anybody to validate my efforts, pat me on my back, or approve what I am doing. When you let go of the good intentions and opinions of others, you are free to be true to yourself. Negative opinion is like an asshole, everybody's got one!
So to conclude this...living in L.A. has been a fantastic experience. If Grandpa was alive, he would most certainly be helping me with my lines!
